There are pictures that go along with these stories, so you can follow the link on the right to see the photos of these events.
First, Zoe had her first meal at Cracker barrel where she ate her first bowl of macaroni and cheese. Since then, she has been feeding herself without any assistance from us, which makes our lives a whole lot easier.
Second, is Zoe's rendition of her first "junk drawer." It is amazing to me what items she chose to place in the drawer and you can see from the picture that it was overflowing with random items such as: remote controls, a fish tank, a fish stuffed animal, a crab stuffed animal, a starfish stuffed animal, an unused diaper, and a stuffed zebra and giraffe, which you can't see un the drawer because they stuffed way in.
Third, is Zoe's first experience with chocolate pudding. You can see that she had a lot of fun eating this and that about half it ended up "on" here instead of "in" her.
Fourth, Zoe's first attempt at knitting. Katie began a knitting class a few weeks ago and is busy with all kinds of knitting projects. As you can see from the photo, she is learning to knit clothing while she is inside of them, and we'll see how it works out.
Fifth, Zoe first experience at the petting zoo. Yesterday, we went to Grant's Farm here in St. Louis. It is an 80 acre farm that belonged to Ulysses Grant. It is now a zoo open to the public. We had a lot of fun there and saw some very interesting animals. We learned that texas longhorns really do have long horns (as long as 6ft. long and 2 ft. diameter, crazy!!) We also, saw zebras, buffalo, elk, antelope, elephants, and many others that I can't recall. We went to the petting zoo and handfed the goats some milk from bottles. It was fun and Zoe was surrounded by 6 at a time all fighting to get the bottle. She ended up getting jumped on, which wasn't much fun since the goats on two legs were taller than she. Zoe also had a hard time refraining from drinking from the same bottle as the goats, much to the horror of her mother. We saw a Macaw show which was pretty impressive, and we learned that the Macaw can do more tricks than our little girl at this point. The Macaw was able to talk comprehendible words, roller skate and put puzzle pieces in the right spot. Our little Zoe has some work to do to catch up, but we are sure that she will.
These are just a few things that I wanted to share to get you updated. Please visit the site with our photos to see the other photos that go along with the stories.
